Stéphane’s Posting for Oct. 30/10

New Arrivals

Today, the second last day of migration monitoring, we had 2 male Buffleheads and one male Common Goldeneye on the basin, first sightings for this fall at Cabot Head.

Nets were open for only the first 3 hours of the morning, before the rain started. But only 4 birds were caught in them, 2 of them already banded! A very quiet morning indeed!

A couple of Yellow-rumped Warblers were seen this morning, as well as a bright Pine Warbler.
