Stéphane’s Post for Sept. 17/10
More Eagles on a Stormy Day!
After the wind and rainstorm of yesterday, the windless conditions of this morning were surprising. Some small waves of birds moved through the area, in a joyful mix: we are getting long- and short-distance migrants at the same time. For example, we are still getting, albeit in small numbers, Magnolia and Orange-crowned Warblers, on their way to Central America. They are probably among the last to go through. And we are beginning to get the first short-distance migrants, like Slate-colored Juncos and White-crowned Sparrows. And, of course, the kinglets!
