In the Bird Doldrums!
The last few days, it feels as if we’ve entered some sort of horse latitudes, when nothing happens and everyone on deck waits for a break in the horizon! Bird movements have been very sparse, to say the least: very few birds have been caught in our nets (a grand total of 10 today, including 4 recaptures), less than 20 species during census, an overall sensation of immense calm!
Well, it is just another period of bust in the ups-and-downs of migration!
